Robin Paratene
Robin Paratene affiliates with Te Kapotai/Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Kere/Ngāti Kahungunu iwi, his whakapapa marae include Te Turuki Waikare, Ngāti Kere Porangahou, and Ngāti Pare Waihaha. Robin has over 25 years of experience advising and supporting Māori entities with Māori land administration and governance, strategic planning, and strategic partnerships. His career spans both private and public sectors, highlighting his expertise in Māori land advisory roles, regional economic development, and agricultural investment services.
Robin has over 20 years of experience with various governance roles for iwi and regional organisations. These roles include member of the Waikare Catchment Advisory Team, Trustee of the Paremata Mokau A13 Trust, Trustee of Reconnecting Northland Whangarei, as well as various governance and advisory roles with several whānau whenua Trusts.
Robin leads several solar farm projects, has provided technical support to several iwi Treaty of Waitangi Settlement Negotiations with the Crown, as well as supported various regional economic initiatives across Aotearoa, New Zealand during his 25-year career in the public sector.
He has a commitment to innovation and fosters strategic partnerships with Māori and non-Māori landowners to stimulate regional economic growth. His leadership in the solar and renewable energy sector underscores his dedication to integrating sustainable practices with traditional land stewardship, to advance rural and Māori communities toward a greener and more prosperous future.
