Kymber Kennedy

Kymber’s career spans 8 years through project and environmental management roles in Canada and Aotearoa New Zealand. This includes roles as a solar qualifier, project manager, sustainability engineer, and most recently, senior environmental and sustainability manager (at Elemental Group Consulting).

At Elemental, Kymber has been involved in a range of environmental, energy efficiency, and renewable energy projects, including being part of the offshore wind project team, submitting responses to legislation changes for the Taranaki and Waikato regional plans, and developing environmental requirements. Kymber has also been familiarised with the Southland, Otago, and Canterbury plans within other roles.

Kymber’s background in the coordination and execution, personally and through subcontractors, of environmental monitoring and compliance, coupled with the ability to navigate and understand various regional legislation caters to the position required to accelerate decarbonisation efforts with Kākāriki. Kymber’s ability to manage diverse projects, combined with an enthusiasm and commitment to the sustainability of the natural environment, creates a unique perspective for project planning with sustainable and industry best practices at the forefront. 

Kymber was awarded a Bachelor of Energy Management and Information Science (BAppSci) from the University of Otago in Energy Management and is currently undertaking a Master of Sustainable Development Goals (MSDG) degree at Massey University.
